I’m enjoying being home with my family this week.
My mom is in town from Florida, what a sacrifice!
They have started mixing the French album “Des Le Reveil”…um…still lots of work to do, not done yet, but should be ready by the beginning of December.
I have to go back to the studio next week to finish up a couple of things on the English album.
Life is good, Mom’s in town, doing a puzzle with my almost 2 year old son, watching my daughter learn to read, eating apple crisp… life is very good!
I guess it’s no secret that we like these guys, and are happy that we are partnering with them for this project. I’ve been really impressed with Sebastian Demrey and also with Johanne Belisle over there. The main site is for ordering music, finding out about the artists and so on.
But, they have another site, and this is what really excites me. Cime’s vision is to see French Gospel music spread all over the French-speaking world. There’s a video on the home page, that’s in French, but a lot of it is in English, and I think you’ll get the gist of what’s being said. Cime would like to get some inroads into the school systems, the media and ultimately get into the hands of families and young people some music with a positive message. Of course, that message is the gospel, it’s good news, and it brings hope and joy and peace, and calls us to the higher things and the ideal things in life. Without a doubt it’s a fundraising site, an awareness raising site, and a place to mobilize action to make an impact on the French-speaking culture and the generation that is emerging.
This beats with our heart, to see Jesus made famous in the French culture. This is a cause worth investing in.
I’m here in Montreal at Cime with Gen today. Grandmaman is in Ottawa, holding down the fort. I think this is the last day of recording for a while. Here’s the latest…
The French Album is going to come out first, probably at the very end of November. If you would like a copy the day it comes out, send Johanne an email here, and tell her.
The English album will be released at the end of February or the beginning of March. If you want a copy of that the day it comes out, send Johanne an email here.
This is pretty exciting!
We’ve started getting some requests for copies of the album when it comes out. The good news, is that it looks like we’re going to be able to figure out how to do that. CIME is ready for us, it’s just a matter of organizing it, connecting the dots between CIME and you people that want a copy the day it comes out!
So, stay tuned… add this link to your feedreader, sign up for posts by email, or check back often…
Gen went on a photo shoot last Saturday, the 19th with Amanda Hayden. It was a lot of fun!
Amanda posted some of the photo’s here…
Which ones are your favorites?
So, somehow we made it through the 9 days of preproduction.
The songs sound great! It’s incredible this process of taking an idea, some lyrics, the melody and mapping it out as a scratch, a demo, working out the timings, the intro, the outro, the solo’s, the arrangements… incredible.
And then to hear all those ideas come together, along with some new ones, just as you’re doing all that work…
Awesome! It’s the playlist on my iPhone, and I really like these songs!
So, there’s actually a couple more that they are going to do some preproduction on, but now we’re in a bit of a break. We need to now work on finishing up the financing, photo’s, graphics, logo’s, registering songs with Socan and so on.
Instrument tracking is supposed to start Sept. 15th.
It’s all happening so very fast… Yikes!
I’m not sure who posted this, but it’s already got 4k hits… and the comments are pretty cool!
Enjoy!
There’s lots more good stuff coming!
